Care for medical patients is changing: The one-doctor-knows-all approach is being replaced by the team approach. OHIO’s Heritage College has responded by training its students to embrace the power of team-based practice.
For nearly 25 years, the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine has been steadily increasing access to health care for thousands of community members across 22 Southeast Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ counties.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University has a culture of doing. Bobcats don’t like to sit on the sidelines—they’d rather go out into the world, see for themselves, and figure out if they can make a difference. OHIO’s Global Health Initiative (GHI) gives students a way to turn this hunger to do good into acts of goodwill.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵHealth and the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University physician group, University Medical Associates (UMA), are moving forward with previously announced plans to join forces.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University officials first discussed the possibility of starting a medical college in 1823. The trustees even set aside land for the project.
The University’s The Promise Lives Campaign raised $500 million over eight years to support students, faculty, programs, outreach, and facilities.
