Pillars

The pillars -- Grow, Honor, and Give serve as the foundation for the Alumni Association’s work. They provide a clear framework that guides our priorities, shapes our approach, and aligns our efforts with the broader goals of the University. These principles help ensure that our programs, outreach, and engagement strategies are purposeful, consistent, and impactful.

How to Partner with Us

We engage alumni through two key approaches — both grounded in the values of Grow, Honor, and Give:

Collaborative Campus Partnerships

When colleges and departments want to connect with alumni, we’re here to help — offering three levels of support based on the goals, timeline, and resources of the initiative.

Collaboration Levels:

Level 1: Sponsorship & Presence

Basic support to show alignment or brand presence.

The OUAA provides:

  • Financial sponsorship of up to $500 at the discretion of the Campus Partners team and/or
  • Swag/giveaways, decor items for college-hosted event and/or
  • May include representation at your event (staff tabling, brief remarks).
  • Examples: OUAA-branded event materials, giveaway items, presence at an award ceremony.

Requirements:

  • Event approval from your college Dean
  • If you receive financial support from the OUAA, the OUAA logo must be present at the event.
  • Request this level at least 4 weeks in advance.
Level 2: Collaborative Promotion & Registration Support

Let us help extend your reach and streamline logistics.

In addition to points from level 1, the OUAA provides:

  • Manages registration and communication via our systems (e.g., email, social, registration page via GiveCampus platform)
  • Coordinates communication plan through UCM and promote through OUAA social channels to ensure a cohesive alumni-facing message
  • Schedules an intake meeting and periodic check-ins for messaging, timing, and alignment with our existing calendar.

Requirements:

  • Event approval from your college Dean
  • A point person from your unit to manage this event/initiative
  • Check-in or attendance list from the event sent back to OUAA liaison no later than 2 weeks post-event
  • Request this level at least 6-8 weeks in advance.
Level 3: Full Strategic Partnership

We co-create and execute, together.

In addition to points from levels 1 and 2, the OUAA provides:

  • Co-leadership of event or initiative planning with your team, including:
    • Strategic planning
    • Vendor coordination
    • Space reservations
    • Full event execution (virtual or in-person)
    • Full tech support
    • OUAA staff presence at event
    • Targeted outreach and follow-up strategy
  • Schedules an intake meeting as well as regular check-ins until the event/initiative concludes
  • Schedules a debrief after the event/initiative concludes
  • Also applies to non-event initiatives like:
    • Information-gathering efforts (e.g., alumni contact update drives)
    • Storytelling projects

Requirements:

  • Event approval from your college dean, and participation
  • A point person from your unit to manage this event/initiative
  • A list (even small) of interested alumni
  • Typically, this level requires funding from the College
  • Request this level at least 12-14 weeks in advance.

Traditional Alumni Programming

In addition to partnerships, our team leads high-impact programs that serve Bobcats across the globe. These initiatives create year-round opportunities for alumni to connect, give back, and grow. Campus partners are encouraged to plug in, promote to your alumni, or collaborate with us.

Our current slate of annual programming includes:

  • Homecoming
  • OHIO Excursions: Alumni Study Abroad
  • Bobcat Brew Trail Series
  • Giving Day
  • Take This Town
  • Bobcat Beautification Month

Support for our University Partners

Financial Support Form

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Alumni Association offers various levels of support for alumni activities across the campus. In addition to event, marketing, and registration support, we have implemented a financial sponsorship process as another avenue for our partners to seek funding for activities within their departments, colleges, and regional campuses.

Financial Support Criteria: The event and/or initiative must have alumni as a PRIMARY audience, and the purpose of the event must be geared toward alumni or in support of alumni activities.

OUAA and University Advancement will approve funds three times a year, and approved sponsorships will range from $250 - $1,000. If there is a need for additional funds outside that range, please indicate that in your application. All support requests must have an application filled out and submitted by the dates provided below:

Sponsorship Requests Due:
Round 1: Aug. 15 (Decisions provided by Sept. 15)
Round 2: Dec. 15 (Decisions provided by Jan. 15)
Round 3: April 15 (Decisions provided by May 15)

Alumni Engagement Reporting Form

We know you are doing amazing work with your alumni base - make sure it gets included in our annual alumni engagement reporting. Each fiscal year, the Division of Advancement calculates an engagement score, with guidance from the Council for Advancement in Support of Education (CASE). Pulling data from our alumni CRM, as well as collecting manual information, we take the number of engaged alumni and divide that by our legally contactable alumni base. This gives us a percentage of engaged alumni each year, and a better understanding of who is involved with the University.

If you have hosted alumni activities not recorded in Advancement's central database, please upload that information here. Reach out to Kate Robey or any campus partner liaison with questions.

Alumni Information Request

The Advancement Operations Data request form is for internal use only. For faculty and staff use, the request must first go through and be approved by the respective Dean of the College the request is being made for.
