Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ University Zanesville offers a variety of meeting rooms, promotional spaces, multi-purpose event area, and outdoor venues that can be reserved for meetings, conferences, banquets, galas and much more.

All users of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ University Zanesville's facilities must adhere to university rules, regulations, and policies, as well as applicable state and federal laws, including fire and police department regulations.

During the academic year, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ University Zanesville's facilities prioritize events and activities for students, faculty, and staff. All requests (both university-affiliated and non-affiliated) will be considered on a case-by-case basis, provided there is available space, staffing, and resources.

Campus Specific Space

In addition to general classrooms, conference rooms, and auditorium space, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ University Zanesville provides a campus-specific space for rental on a limited basis to individuals or outside organizations.

*Note: Restrooms will be closed October 15 - April 15. Normal open days/times are Monday-Friday (7 am - 8 pm). For events held after hours and weekends, where there are more than 50 participants, organizers need to arrange for portable restrooms to be placed in the Elson Hall parking lot near the trail for use on the day of the event. 

Events on Collegial Woods Trails

Muskingum Valley Park District (MVPD) owns and operates the gravel perimeter trail, the wooded area with natural surface trails, and Joe’s Run Recreational Trail. 

Please contact Michelle Illing with MVPD at 740.455.8237 or mlilling@muskingumcounty.org to use the perimeter trail for 5K’s or any organized events. 

Event requirements:

  • You will need to request a Special Use Permit by visiting our website .
  • If you want restroom facilities, you will need to rent portables for your event.
  • Every 5K participant needs to sign a Waiver and Release form prior to the event or day of. We have digital forms that can also be printed for your use.
  • You will need to add Muskingum Valley Park District on your Certificate of Liability Insurance policy. Contact your insurance company and ask that they list us as additionally insured. This protects the park district should an accident occurs on our property. Your insurance company should provide this service at no additional cost.

In addition, you must also contact Tracey Humphrey at 740.588.1434 or humphret@ohio.edu and complete the OHIO Zanesville Facilities Use Request Form for events on the Collegial Woods Trails that use the Cora E. Rogge Pavilion.

Additional Fees

There are additional maintenance and IT fees applied when outside of normal business hours.

Additional Considerations

During peak academic times, university holidays and other high-demand periods, event spaces may have limited availability. Please contact the Dean's Office to discuss your needs, and we will do our best to accommodate them. The following are times when space may be unavailable:

  • Winter Break Closure (typically occurs around December 25 - January 1)
  • Spring Break (typically occurs in March)
  • Week of Spring Graduation Recognition Ceremonies (typically held in May)
  • First full week before Fall Semester (typically occurs in August)
  • First week of Fall and Spring Semesters (typically occurs in August and January
