Ray Dixson serves as the Assistant Director for the Brigadier General James M. Abraham & Colonel Arlene F. Greenfield Veterans and Military Student Services Center at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ University. A U.S. Navy Veteran, Ray served from 1991–1995 as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate, Petty Officer Third Class.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Sciences from the University of Florida and a Master of Sport Administration from Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ University.
In his role, Ray educates and advises veterans and military-connected students on the use of their VA education benefits and helps develop and implement programs that promote awareness, recognition, and engagement for student veterans across the Athens campus, regional campuses, and online programs.
Outside of work, Ray enjoys playing golf, maintaining his family’s six-acre property, raising chickens, watching college and NFL football, and spending time with his family.
