University Libraries welcomes new, returning students for its annual Camp Alden
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Libraries hosted its annual Camp Alden event to celebrate new and returning Bobcats during Welcome Week. On Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., students celebrating their return to the Athens campus joined staff outside the fourth floor at Wolfe Garden with lawn games, art-making stations and a scavenger hunt through all seven floors of the building.
As a part of Welcome Week, the staff at Alden Library hosted a free event to familiarize students with its many resources and learning spaces. Students participated in button-making, a hot-button activity that used recycled materials like magazines and yearbooks. Additionally, students enjoyed eating s’mores, and they played mini golf and cornhole.
The scavenger hunt also returned this year, featuring new clues and locations. The event allowed students to discover study areas and resources on various floors as well as service desk locations for future studying needs.
From winning new prizes to discovering new study spots, every attending student had the chance to get to know their Library better.
If you missed Camp Alden – no worries! Alden Library will continue hosting more events this semester. Stay tuned and head to the Libraries’ Blog for more information about all the fun activities ahead!
