Kat Martinson

Kat Martinson is from Brooklyn, Wisconsin, a tiny town south of Madison. Growing up, she would draw house layouts and design rooms on graph paper for fun. She has always been artistic, and knew she wanted to turn that creativity into a career.
Kat graduated with Associates in Applied Arts – Interior Design from Madison College in Interior Design in 2016, and has worked in the industry since. She will graduate with a Bachelors of Fine Arts - Interior Architecture degree from Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University in December. She currently works for a vertically integrated development firm that specializes in affordable housing, which has turned into her real passion. Some of the most notable projects she has worked on include supportive housing for seniors, workforce housing in mountain towns, and an urban infill project designed to support veterans.
During her almost ten years in the industry, she has utilized many skills, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Podium, and Revit. To remember where she came from all those years ago, she still will sketch out design ideas on graph paper. She is currently studying for her final NCIDQ exam, which she hopes to finish in the fall.
