Exercise Physiology Research & Teaching Labs

The Exercise Physiology Department has several lab spaces that are specific to exercise physiology: three research labs and one teaching lab. The Exercise Physiology labs are used to understand physiological responses to exercise.

Exercise Physiology Research Labs

The Exercise Physiology Research Labs are used in faculty and student-led research projects in a variety of areas in Exercise Physiology.

Equipment

  • Heart Rate Monitors
  • Treadmills (Tuff Tread, Life Fitness and Trackmaster TMX425C)
  • Wattbike Cycle Ergometers
  • Parvomedics TrueOne metabolic cart
  • Quark CPET metabolic cart
  • InBody 770
  • HUMAC NORM isokinetic dynamometer

Exercise Physiology Teaching Lab

The Exercise Physiology Teaching Lab is used to teach courses such as Exercise Testing & Prescription, Cardiovascular Assessment, and Physiology of Exercise.

Exercise physiology students gather around to learn how to conduct a test with a person on a treadmill.

Equipment

  • Skin fold calipers
  • Blood pressure cuffs
  • Heart rate monitors and pulse oximeters
  • Treadmills (Tuff Tread, Life Fitness and Trackmaster TMX425C)
  • Monark Cycle Ergometers
  • Wattbike Cycle Ergometers
  • Vertec vertical jump systems
