Current Use
Shoemaker Center features a full-length basketball court, free-standing baskets, bleacher seating to accommodate approximately 2,400 spectators, and a walking track utilized by both campus members and community residents. The facility hosts special events, including graduation ceremonies, fitness classes, and numerous community functions.
Fitness Center
The fitness center is open to all Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Chillicothe students, faculty and staff. Recreation facilities available include the walking track, basketball courts, and the weight room. Basketballs can be signed out at the office on the main floor.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ University Chillicothe welcomes all community members to make use of the Shoemaker Center walking track during the hours listed on this page. Community members that are utilizing the walking track must complete a liability waiver at the office on the main floor, and sign in and out for each visit.

- Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Closed on weekends and University Holidays

History
Shoemaker Center was dedicated in 1979 in honor of the late Myrl Shoemaker, who served in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ House of Representatives for 24 years and was lieutenant governor from 1982 until his death in 1985 at age 72. Shoemaker insisted that the campus have a top-of-the-line facility and was extremely influential in the process of the building's construction.
